Beijing will hike the minimum monthly wage by 8.6 percent starting January 1, 2012, to help attract laborers facing rapidly rising living costs, a local official said Thursday.
The minimum monthly wage will be raised by 100 yuan to 1,260 yuan ($200), said Sun Yan, deputy director of the Beijing municipal human resources and social security bureau.
Twenty-one provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities had raised the minimum monthly wage by an average of 21.7 percent by October this year
2012年1月1日起，北京市最低月工资将增长8.6%，以帮助劳动者应付飞速上涨的生活成本。
据北京市人力社保局副局长孙彦介绍，北京市最低工资标准调整为1260元（200美元），增加了100元。
截止2011年10月，全国21个省市自治区调高了最低工资标准，平均涨幅21.7%。
