Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

    Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

    When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

    Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,

    "Richness, can you take me with you?"

    Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

    Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"

    "I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

    Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."

    "Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

    Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

    Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"

    "It was Time," Knowledge answered.

    "Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

    Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

    很久以前，曾经有一个小岛，岛上生活各种各样的情感：快乐、悲伤、智慧，还有别的一些事体，其中就有“爱”。有一天有人告诉它们小岛要沉没了，大家把造好的船都开跑了，唯独留下了爱。

    爱是唯一留在岛上的，它想尽可能坚持到最后一刻。

    但是小岛就快没顶了，爱决定求救。

    正好富裕坐着一艘大船经过。爱说：“富裕啊，你可以让我上船吗？”

    富裕说：“办不到。我船上有很多的金银财宝。没有你的地儿了。”

    爱决定向荣华求救，荣华也正经过：“荣华，帮帮我吧！”

    “我帮不了你，你全身都湿了，会把我的船弄坏的。”荣华回答道。

    悲伤接近了爱，爱就问了：“悲伤，让我跟你一起走吧。”

    “噢……爱啊，我太忧愁了，我需要一个人呆着！”

    快乐也从旁经过，但是它太高兴了以至都没听见爱的呼喊。

    突然一个声音说道：“来吧，爱，我来载你。”是一位老者。如此幸运，如此欢欣，爱都没问它们要去哪。当它们到了干燥的陆地上，老者顾自走掉了。当爱回过神来，想起老者的大恩，爱问另一个老者——智慧：“是谁帮了我呀？”

    “是时间啊。”智慧回答道。

    “时间？”爱问，“但她为什么帮我啊？”

    智慧隽永地一笑，回答道：“因为只有时间才能负担爱的价值。”
